This is a rare grouping of a mortar together with a combination pestle-spatula. The pestle has a 6.5cm section flattened for use as a spatula below a 6cm section carved with typical Massim patterns. There is a small stable crack just below the carving on the spatula blade.
The mortar has four figures finely carved in relief, each 3cm, pointing at the the four point of the compass. One has its right arm broken.
Both are well used with the typical remnants and residue from years of use.
